Variable Rate Spreading

Variable Rate Spreading (VRS) is an increasingly used form of precision spreading, with different application rates across the same field or vineyard.

Many owners are using it where they are looking to customise the spreading for variability on their property. Applying fertiliser only where it is needed which often leads to less application of fertiliser and a reduction in fertiliser expenditure.

The process is simple with soil tests samples being GPS linked identifying areas in paddocks where there is nutrient deficiency affecting the yield. There may be areas where levels are high so that less or even no fertiliser need be applied.

Your chosen agronomy provider, or we can, create easy to use nutrient maps to highlight these areas. This data is then loaded into our Tracmap GPS system and adjustment rates happen automatically when passing over these different areas. This technology ensures that every part of the paddock receives only the nutrients required, saving you money.

Method of Application

Bandspreading with belts

Placement directly under the vines or drip line ideal for young plants and nutrient replacement during growing season.

Bandspreading with spinners

Placement on herbicide or cultivated strip under vine up to one metre wide. Replacement for nutrients during growing season.

Full Broadcast systems

Nutrient placement on mature vines spread to certified widths. Ideal for vineyard and paddock applications.

Soil conditioning

Aglime, Optimize Lime (pelletized), Dolomite, Gypsum, Fish Meal (organic), We believe closer row centres, slower spinner speed for lesser environmental impact.
